You will need to log in and update your banking information on the NelNet website through RAMweb /
FAMweb.
Login to Nelnet Campus Commerce via your RAMweb account, and then proceed to log into NelNet portal. From the menu, select Financial Accounts to update credit card, debit card or bank account information. You may also call NelNet Campus Solutions at 800-470-6014, to speak with a customer service representative to update your account information.
Make sure the information is entered in time for the next scheduled payment date!
What if I didn’t have the payment come out of my bank account that I was expecting?
A few things could have happened:
- Your balance due came to zero.
- You didn’t have enough funds in your bank account.
- NelNet will attempt to take the payment on the next scheduled date, the 20th.
- If they are not able to withdraw the 2nd attempt the plan will be terminated and a hold will be placed on the student’s account.
- You will need to make payment in full to the student’s account to avoid late fees and
registration holds. - NelNet charges a $30 fee for returned payments.
Can I have my rent payment included in the payment plan?
At this time, rent payments need to be made separate from the payment plan; Rent payments cannot be included in the NelNet payment plan.
Is there a charge to process with a credit or debit card or checking account?
- If you choose to pay with credit or with debit cards, there will be a 2.85% service fee added to your payment.
- That percentage is calculated off of the amount being paid per each payment (i.e., $1,000 payment = $28.50 service fee).
- That percentage is calculated off of the amount being paid per each payment (i.e., $1,000 payment = $28.50 service fee).
- NelNet doesn’t charge a fee for auto deductions from your banking account.
How can I terminate/ cancel my payment plan?
You can terminate your plan at any time. To do so:
- Log into QuikPay and select Payment Plan.
- Click on your Agreement ID# – it will be hyperlinked in blue – which will take you to the details page of your payment plan.
- Click on the Terminate button at the bottom of the page.
I paid off my bill and my payment plan took out a payment as well, can the auto-withdraw be reversed?
- NelNet cannot reverse payments – that being said, you will be refunded through the student’s RAMweb account.
- When your balance due is zero, the plan should automatically end, and you shouldn’t need to terminate
the plan. - However, on occasion, the automatic re-balance does occur a few days prior to pulling the payment – so it is possible for a payment to happen and need to be refunded (though rare).
Can I use the payment plan to bypass a registration hold for a past due balance?
No. You will not be eligible to enroll in a payment plan if you have holds on your account. You will need to pay your balance in full before you will be allowed to register.
Can NelNet provide a payment report for tax purposes? How can I get one?
A printable payment summary is available for the customer in their Nelnet account on the Payments tab. It can be printed for a calendar year or a date range.
Will NelNet disclose my personal information to a third party?
No.
NelNet acts as an agent for institutions in administering their payment plans. It is the policy of NelNet to protect all personal and financial information provided to us by all participants. NelNet does not sell or share any non-public personal information or client lists to any third party, except as agreed to by you, or as may be necessary to complete a transaction in the ordinary course of business, or as required under an applicable law.
When and what time will the funds be withdrawn from my bank account?
NelNet specifies the date each payment will occur, but it is your financial institution that determines the time of day the payment is debited. NelNet recommends you check with your financial institution to determine how far in advance funds should be deposited into your account to ensure the automatic payment clears.
If a payment date falls on a weekend or banking holiday, the payment will be attempted the following business day.
Can I adjust my payments after setting them up?
Yes. If the balance that you owe changes, you can rebalance your monthly payment amount. Once charges are viewable on your student account (end of July for fall, beginning of January for spring), you may wish to adjust your scheduled monthly payments to avoid over or under-paying. You may also want to make adjustments to your monthly payment amount if there are changes to your financial aid or class schedule.
What does it mean to rebalance my payment plan? If I am being asked to rebalance, what do I do?
If the balance due on your bill changes for any reason (i.e., adding or dropping a class) your monthly payments will need to be redistributed, or “rebalanced,” evenly across the remaining months of your payment plan.
Here are some steps on how to rebalance your payment plan:
Access the Payment Plan:
- Log in to your RAMweb account.
- Navigate to Billing and Tax Information from the menu.
- Select Billing Information and then click Enroll/Manage Payment Plan.
- Log in to the NelNet Payment Plan system.
Adjust Payments:
- Once logged into NelNet, you can manage your payment plan, which most often involves rebalancing your total current amount due to CSU across all of the remaining payments for that semester’s payment plan.
